The zorrilho (Conepatus chinga) is a carnivorous mammal of the Mephitidae family, a close relative of the scabbard (Conepatus semistriatus) and the cangambá (Mephitis mephitis) and, like this one, is characterized by the pungent smell (of a liquid produced by an anal gland) that Is capable of emitting when caged.This animal inhabits South America, being found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Campos Sulinos, Peru and Uruguay. The name derives from the Spanish zorrillo, meaning "fox".
