Chinchilla
Chinchilla is the generic name of the rodent mammals of the Chinchillidae family, native to the South American Andes. Chinchilla's coat is about 30 times softer than human hair and very dense, with 20,000 hairs per square centimeter. This capillary density prevents, for example, that these animals are infested by fleas that can not survive in their coat. Because of this, your hair can not be wet. They are very active animals and need to exercise regularly. As they also enjoy exploring, observing and hearing sounds, they should be released at home or in a closed place.
They are also very sociable and therefore should not have a solitary life.
Chinchillas were discovered in the 16th century and soon hunted because of their skin. At the beginning of the 20th century they were already very rare and in 1923 the biologist Mathias Chapman brought the last 11 copies to the United States. The offspring of these couples saved the chinchilla from extinction and since the 60's it is a relatively popular pet.
