Goats (when male: goats) are animals of the species Capra aegagrus or Capra hircus. The cubs - popularly called goats - are born after a gestation of about 150 days. They have a life expectancy of about twenty years and emit a sound called "bleating". The collective noun for goats groups is "fact."

The goat is one of the smallest domesticated ruminants. Goats were the first animals to be domesticated, around the year 7000 a.c. the Middle East, from the wild-goats. Perhaps your natural strength and ability to adapt to extreme conditions has drawn the attention of the nomadic peoples of the region for this animal and the possibility of taming.

Most of the goat races, both sexes have horns and a beard. The horns can be curved or spirally shaped, but many have a sharp inner edge. The hair can be long or short, smooth or rough, depending on the habitat and control of creation.

The goat provides wool (in some varieties, such as goat-mohair), leather, meat, milk and sometimes manure. Many people daily consume more products goat than other animals. Goats are excellent exploitative and can find their own food. The depletion of grazing by goats has become, where there is no proper handling of animals, an environmental problem in many parts of the world.

The natural habitat of the goats are the mountains, usually in temperate zones. The high altitude, combined with the lungs developed goats and thick coat that protects them from the cold, allows survival in a safe place away from any kind of predator.
