snake
Cobra is a generic term often used in the English language as a synonym for snake. It is also a common name among Europeans to designate Asian species, the suborder Ophidia and Naja genus. The name is an abbreviation of snake-de-cap or cobra.
Most snakes lay eggs and most of these abandons shortly after oviposition. However, some species are ovoviviparous and retain the eggs within their bodies until they were about to hatch.
It was recently confirmed that several species of snakes develop their descendants completely inside, nurturing them through a placenta and amniotic sac. The retention of live eggs and deliveries are usually, but not exclusively, associated with cold climates, and the retention of the descendants in the female lets you control their temperature more effectively than if they would meet outside.
