In Brazilian Portuguese, the word "deer" is a derogatory slang term generally used to refer to gay men. The term supposedly gave up the empire of the time squares of Rio de Janeiro (city) where they met groups of boys to among other objectives prostitute themselves to wealthy clients. It is said that to be restrained by police, "deer" fled there to jump, resulting in that nickname
