agouti
Agouti is a common name for species of small rodents Dasyprocta Dasyproctidae gender and family, also known as acuchi, acouti, agouti or acuti. They are small rodent mammals, measuring between 49 and 64 centimeters. Seven species of agouti inhabit the Brazilian territory.
Etymology
"Agouti", "acuchi", "acouti", "agouti" and "acuti" originate from the Tupi term for the animal: aku'ti.
